GIRL GUIDES AUSTRALIA

Girl Guides Australia is made up of seven state and territory Girl Guide organisations.   All members from 5 - 17 are called 'Girl Guides'.

All girls follow the Australian Guide Program, which involves four elements (People, Practical, Physical, Self) and seven fundamentals (Promise and Law, Outdoors, Service, World Guiding, Guiding Traditions, Leadership Development and Patrol Systems).

Those aged between 18 and 30 may choose to be involved in the Olave Program.

Leaders follow the Australian Adult Leadership Program.

UNIFORM

Girl Guides Australia introduced a new uniform in 2010, to celebrate the Guiding centenary.

Girl Guides now wear a blue polo shirt (with different coloured sides depending on their age), a sash, dark blue shorts, skirt or trousers and a Guide cap or hat.

Adult Guide members wear either a dark blue polo shirt with light blue sides or a white blouse, badge tab and dark blue skirt or trousers.

All girl and adult members who have made the Guide promise wear the Australian Guide promise badge on their left collar (see image on left).
