FEET

Here are some ideas for earning the Feet badge.  Some activities are designed to be done in a patrol or unit, others are designed to be done at home.

Suggestions have been split into ideas for Guides aged under 10 and Guides aged over 10, but feel free to mix and match - as long as it is a challenge for the individual girl!

Under 10

Do a drawing, and write your name on it, using a pencil held in your feet.

In your unit, have everyone cut out their footprint from paper.  Line the footprints up in size order then have all the girls line up next to their footprint.  See whether having a larger foot means you will be taller.

With your patrol, create music only using your feet.

Have each patrol set up a course for a soccer ball to be controlled through by your feet.  Have a turn at the courses of other patrols.

Balance along a line on the ground as if it were a tightrope.

Have one girl walk through a sandy patch, leaving footprints.  See if the rest of the patrol can follow her footprints.

Play a Ball Passing Relay (see Games section).

Create a poster showing ways to take care of your feet.

Be able to tie a
reef knot with your feet.

Go for a penny hike with your unit.

Over 10

Find a partner and take turns giving each other foot massages.  There are some ideas on this website.  You also might want to paint each other's toenails when you are done.

Be able to tie a reef knot with your feet.

Learn about reflexology, and be able to point out which parts of the feet correspond to 3 different parts of the body.
