COMPUTER

Here are some ideas for earning the Computer badge.  Some activities are designed to be done in a patrol or unit, others are designed to be done at home.

Suggestions have been split into ideas for Guides aged under 10 and Guides aged over 10, but feel free to mix and match - as long as it is a challenge for the individual girl!


Under 10

Know 3 rules for safety on the internet.  There are some ideas here.

Send your Leader an email.

Play a computer game and tell your patrol about it.

Write a letter to someone in Word and print it out.

Pick a subject and find the
Wikipedia article about it.

Create a poster showing good behaviour around a computer. 

Draw a picture on the computer in Paint, or similar.

Over 10

Find the websites of the Four World Centres (Our Chalet, Pax Lodge, Sangam and Our Cabana).

Send your Leader an email with an attachment.

Make a Powerpoint presentation about your patrol.

Pick a subject and do some research using online sources such as Wikipedia.  Print out your research and show it to your Leader.

Visit the Guides WA website and discover the two campsites that are owned by Girl Guides WA

Use imaging software to change the colour, shape or features of a photograph of yourself.  Print the original and the changed version.
